China has released its first national standard system for the Agent Internet — the interconnected network of AI agents — as reported by Sina Finance and other major Chinese financial media outlets. The Agent Internet refers to a new type of network ecosystem formed by large numbers of AI agents connected and collaborating over the internet. As large language models rapidly mature, a proliferation of agent products from various vendors has emerged. However, the lack of unified communication protocols, data interfaces, and security standards has severely limited cross-platform interoperability.

The newly released standard system covers core dimensions including architectural models, communication protocols, interoperation interfaces, and security compliance. For developers and enterprises, the standardization brings much-needed certainty: product development can follow a unified reference framework, reducing the cost of adapting to different platforms. Enterprise users can choose more flexible agent combinations without being locked into a single vendor.

From a regulatory perspective, the security and compliance components of the standard system provide a technical foundation for governing the Agent Internet. As agents penetrate critical sectors such as finance, healthcare, and government services, unified standards play a fundamental role in mitigating security risks and ensuring data compliance.

Looking ahead, the release of the standard system is only the first step.
