Airtap has launched a text-based mobile AI agent that transforms a standard iMessage or RCS conversation into a control panel for phone apps. Unlike chat assistants that just answer questions, Airtap acts as an agent that operates mobile apps on the user's behalf, capable of placing orders, clipping coupons, checking account activity, and posting to social platforms — all from within the message thread.

Getting started is remarkably simple. Sending a single text to the Airtap number automatically creates an account, with no signup form, download, or setup command required. Airtap reports progress back as plain text. A link appears only when first-time sign-in to a third-party service is needed, with each link being single-use and scoped to one task.

The clearest fit for Airtap is with tasks that are entirely within mobile apps and repeat on a schedule. Clipping digital grocery coupons is one key use case — supermarket, big box, and pharmacy apps often hide savings behind manually toggled offers that reset weekly.
