Cloudflare launches Cloudflare OS, an open-source AI agentic workspace for the enterprise

Cloudflare has launched Cloudflare OS, an open-source AI agentic workspace that runs in the browser and gives employees custom shared micro-apps for research, documents and automated workflows. Built on each company's own Cloudflare account, it is zero-trust by default and supports bring-your-own-model via Cloudflare's AI Gateway.

Cloudflare announced the launch of Cloudflare OS on Wednesday: an open-source, browser-based AI agentic workspace packed with custom shared micro-applications for enterprise employees.

Most AI tools sold to enterprises are generalized — they know a great deal about the world and very little about the specific company they serve. Cloudflare says Cloudflare OS was built from the ground up for its own workforce, which uses it daily for research, document creation and building apps for day-to-day jobs.

Cloudflare OS is how we run Cloudflare, said co-founder and CEO Matthew Prince. For AI to truly transform an enterprise, it can't live in a silo or behind a developer bottleneck — every employee needs the ability to build, iterate, and automate safely.

The platform captures a company's working knowledge from day one and travels with employees: users create custom micro-apps that wire their workflows to internal knowledge, then share and collaborate without losing context. Because the framework is open source and runs on a company's own Cloudflare account, organizations own anything they build on it and avoid lock-in to a closed product.

No developer expertise is required. Employees can conduct research, produce documents tied to live data, run automated workflows and build tools without waiting on IT or engineering teams. Each app ships with its own isolated database, real-time capabilities and access controls, and because the platform is built on Cloudflare Access it is zero-trust by default — every user and request is verified before access is granted.

Cloudflare OS also brings bring-your-own-model: through Cloudflare AI Gateway, organizations can use any AI model provider rather than being locked to one vendor. Administrators can track token usage and spend by person, team and app, set budgets and rate limits, and route tasks by complexity — routine jobs to small, efficient models and high-reasoning work to frontier models.

We built this because nothing else did what we needed. Now any company can start from where it took us years to get, Prince added.

What to watch next: whether the open-source repository and docs are publicly available, how quickly enterprises adopt the workspace, and whether Cloudflare's AI-for-everyone approach holds up inside conventional corporate IT environments.

Why it matters

Cloudflare OS pushes an AI-for-every-employee model with open-source, zero-trust and bring-your-own-model positioning, potentially intensifying competition in the enterprise agentic workspace market.
