Magic Atom shows physical AI in real scenarios at WRC 2026, debuts MagicDog T1 quadruped and upgraded Magic-VLA K02 model

Magic Atom showcased industrial, logistics, and public-safety solutions at WRC 2026, debuting the lightweight quadruped MagicDog T1 alongside the upgraded Magic-VLA K02 embodied model. On-site demos, including a combined box-folding-and-taping task, exceeded 90% success, and the company reports orders on hand above 1.1 billion yuan.

Magic Atom brought its "magic town" to WRC 2026 (August 19-23), presenting three real-business scenario solutions — industrial manufacturing, logistics sorting, and public safety — and demonstrating the upgraded capabilities of its self-developed general-purpose embodied model Magic-VLA K02 through three on-site demos.

The centerpiece was the industrial wheeled humanoid MagicBot D1: a wheeled chassis paired with a humanoid upper body, a 7-DOF force-controlled arm with 5kg single-arm payload and 0.5N force precision, centimeter-level mapping, and a self-developed RCS cluster scheduling system, covering a working height of 80-230cm with a 90cm reach and supporting 7×24 unattended operation with hot-swap batteries and auto recharging.

According to QbitAI, MagicBot D1 is already handling material transport and line loading/unloading at Dreame's smart manufacturing plant, serving as the core carrier of a "one brain, many forms" strategy in which a single general model drives humanoid, wheeled-humanoid, and sorting robots across different jobs, cutting the training and development cost of cross-embodiment transfer.

In the logistics scenario, the wheeled humanoid XGZ1 and sorting robot HyperBot demonstrated heterogeneous multi-robot collaboration covering the full "feed-sort-transfer" loop, with HyperBot shuttling and diverting goods at 2.5m/s and XGZ1 using a 6-second end-effector quick-change system to break the traditional one-machine-one-task model.

In public safety, Magic Atom's traffic management robot — built with the Wuxi Public Security Bureau — worked the 2026 Wuxi Marathon as what it calls the world's first bipedal robot traffic police officer at a major sporting event, earning public praise from a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson. The company is also leading the Jiangsu provincial key laboratory for public-safety embodied robots and integrating with China Mobile Lianyungang's 5G-A network infrastructure.

New hardware included the lightweight industrial quadruped MagicDog T1: about 18kg with up to 15kg continuous payload, a 5m/s top speed, 18cm climbing and 40° slope capability, RGB and RGBD cameras plus 16-line LiDAR, roughly 3 hours of runtime, and a standardized back-mounted expansion interface for grippers that handle trash pickup, button pressing, and other light tasks — pairing with the industrial-grade MagicDog Y1 for a light-to-heavy payload ladder.

The Magic-VLA K02 model, released in April, showed broad upgrades: its hierarchical dual-system architecture lifts long-horizon task accuracy to 92%, cuts interruption rates below 5%, raises scenario adaptation throughput by 110%, reaches 100% cross-device adaptation, and reduces required demonstration data by 60%. Its metadata description system lets one model framework support arms, mobile manipulators, and single- or dual-arm configurations.

The three demos covered coordinated left-right hand block printing for long-horizon task planning, zero-shot generalization to a never-seen Polo shirt category in flexible clothing folding, and combined box-folding-and-taping as the first complete long-horizon task of its kind by a general embodied model. A success rate above 90% on site marks long-horizon, model-driven manipulation moving from the lab toward deployable production tools.

On the business side, Magic Atom holds orders on hand worth over 1.1 billion yuan, was named to the 2026 Global Embodied Intelligence Benchmark Enterprises TOP100, and in July was elected rotating chair of the Jiangsu Embodied Intelligence Robot Industry Alliance. President Gu Shitao says products now reach nearly 30 countries with overseas revenue at 40%. The open question is whether its "one brain, many forms" approach can survive the climb to mass production at the ten-thousand-unit scale.

Why it matters

Magic Atom is pushing embodied AI from trade-show demos toward repeatable commercial delivery across humanoid, wheeled, and quadruped lines; its ability to scale production past the thousand-unit mark will determine whether the "one brain, many forms" thesis holds at industrial volume.
