Your First Personal Robot Opens for Pre-Order: Shangwei's Qiyuan Q1 and T1, First Shipments in September

On August 23, Qiyuan Robot, the consumer robotics arm of Shangwei New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. (上纬新材), officially opened pre-orders for its two personal robots, the Qiyuan Q1 and Qiyuan T1. Customers can reserve units through the official Qiyuan mini-program, Tmall, Douyin, and Bilibili storefronts, or at offline experience events, with first shipments expected in September 2026.

The pre-order package is packed with incentives: a 1,000 yuan deposit counts toward 2,000 yuan off the final payment; buyers get 30% off Care kits, official accessories, and merchandise within 30 days of purchase; and early backers receive a first-batch collector's gift box containing a letter personally signed by robotics figure Zhi Hui Jun (稚晖君), a founder-user collector card, and a limited-edition robot figurine. Reservations also unlock Q1 shell customization rights, an extra six months of warranty, and priority 1-on-1 customer service.

The two robots are not entirely new to consumers. They previously took small-scale reservations at the 2026 World AI Conference and ChinaJoy 2026, and ran offline experience and internal purchase events in Guangzhou, Hangzhou, and Shanghai. The open pre-order marks the shift from display samples to genuine mass-market sales, letting ordinary consumers move from trying a demo unit to owning a personal robot.

For Shangwei, this is a milestone in commercializing its consumer embodied-intelligence business. According to the company's H1 2026 report, it now fields the Qiyuan Q1 and T1 as a two-product consumer lineup, has collected 210 million yuan in pre-sales deposits, and operates offline experience stores across seven major cities.

The company is also investing heavily in the technology base. In the first half of 2026, Shangwei spent 160 million yuan on R&D for its consumer embodied-intelligence business, covering AI models, embodied intelligence algorithms, motion intelligence, interaction intelligence, and lightweight joints. Supply-chain capacity is being built in parallel: it signed a first-phase 10,000-unit-scale production line partnership with Lens Technology's Lens Intelligent Robotics, and a strategic core-component line deal with Wolong Electric Drive.

On the hardware side, the Qiyuan Q1 is billed as the world's first small-size, full-body force-controlled humanoid robot — about 88cm tall and 15kg — targeting embodied development, tech collectibles, and family companionship. The Qiyuan T1 is described as the world's first deformable personal robot: standing about 100cm and weighing 16kg, it switches autonomously between wheeled-foot humanoid and quadruped forms for companionship, outdoor walks, and content creation.

Policy and industry tailwinds are lining up. In June, eight government departments including the Ministry of Commerce issued implementation opinions on accelerating “AI + consumption,” listing AI robots as a new category of consumer supply; at the 2026 World Robot Conference, multiple companies unveiled consumer-grade embodied products, signaling a shift away from stage-show demos toward practical market needs.

The significance of the open pre-order is that consumer humanoid robots are accelerating out of the “sample experience” pilot phase, completing the critical leap from “being experienced” to “being purchased,” and pushing the industry into a key window of C-end commercialization and real-market validation. Soochow Securities research similarly argues that consumer embodied intelligence is moving from pure tech showcases into real-demand penetration in gaming, social collectibles, and companionship services.

The near-term questions are about execution: whether September shipments arrive on schedule, how the robots hold up in real homes, and whether the 10,000-unit production lines can scale. The era of robots entering the home is moving from slogans to order books.

Why it matters

This is the first time consumer humanoid robots have gone to open public pre-order; September deliveries will directly test real home demand and production ramp-up, putting embodied-intelligence C-end commercialization into a validation phase.
