Qwen Office tops 30 million users in its first month, enterprise accounts over half
Alibaba announced on September 4 that Qwen Office, its enterprise-grade general-purpose Agent product, surpassed 30 million total users within its first month after launching on August 3, with enterprise accounts making up more than half of the user base. The milestone came alongside roughly 120 version updates, an open-sourced context infrastructure called MyContext, and a dedicated office-tuned model built on Qwen3.8-Flash.
On September 4, Alibaba announced that Qwen Office, its enterprise-grade general-purpose Agent product, has passed 30 million total users within its first month, with enterprise accounts accounting for more than half of the user base. The figures, released by Alibaba itself, mark the first public milestone for the product line the company assembled by consolidating several of its Agent offerings. Qwen Office launched on August 3. Within just one month its total user volume surpassed 30 million, making it one of the fastest-growing products in the AI office category, and an enterprise share above half is seen as direct evidence of Alibaba's strength in the enterprise market. On the product side, Qwen Office has been iterating at high frequency, shipping roughly 120 version updates over the past month — an average of four iterations per day and more than a thousand features in total — while also releasing an international edition to enter the global market. On August 17, Alibaba open-sourced MyContext, the context infrastructure behind Qwen Office that converts massive amounts of heterogeneous work data into context Agents can call directly; the project passed 3,000 GitHub stars within a few weeks. Combined with deep integration with DingTalk and other IM tools, Qwen Office turns information scattered across messages, documents, approvals, email and knowledge bases into organizational context that Agents can understand and invoke — a salesperson can issue a command in DingTalk, and the Agent queries CRM, ERP and other systems for customer, inventory and order data before assembling business recommendations. On the model side, after Alibaba released Qwen3.8-Flash on August 26, the Qwen Office team shipped a dedicated version fine-tuned for multi-step planning, tool selection and context compression, with further throughput gains from inference optimization and a customized Harness architecture. In real office-scenario tests disclosed by the company, single-task generation speed improved by roughly 100% and average token consumption fell by 75%. Adoption is broadening across energy, automotive, finance, embodied AI, aerospace and research: Changan Automobile, Huifu, Transfar Group, Zhongyi and Laoxiangji are among the leading companies integrating Qwen Office into R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, store operations and cross-border workflows. Changan applies the product across its full research-production-supply-sales-service chain, cutting wiring-harness selection calculations from two days of manual engineer work to five minutes and vehicle document checks from over ten minutes per car to one or two. Third-party evidence also exists: Wall Street investment bank Jefferies field-tested eight mainstream global AI Agents and ranked Qwen Office first in overall score. Crossing 30 million users in a month is a strong start, but for an enterprise-grade Agent the more meaningful signal is the enterprise share above half, which directly tests the strength of Alibaba's To B channels and DingTalk synergy. What to watch next is whether growth persists after the launch surge, whether the MyContext open-source ecosystem expands, and whether the dedicated Qwen3.8-Flash model keeps translating into real advantages in office scenarios.
Why it matters
Qwen Office's 30 million first-month users with an enterprise majority signal that Alibaba is converting its consumer reach and DingTalk synergy into real share of the enterprise Agent market, raising the competitive bar for AI office players in China.
