COOWA Debuts Industry-First Dual-Layer Agent World Model at WAIC 2026, Advancing Urban Embodied AI
COOWA Technology unveiled the industry's first dual-layer agent world model COOWAM at WAIC 2026, unifying physical and social world models for embodied robots. The company also showcased its all-terrain X0 robot with modular design for diverse urban tasks.
At the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC 2026), urban-scenario specialist COOWA Technology released COOWAM, the industry's first dual-layer agent world model that unifies physical world models with human social world models. The model provides a more complete cognitive foundation for embodied AI robots.
COOWA demonstrated a robotic arm driven by the COOWAM model, autonomously preparing drinks for visitors — cutting and juicing watermelon, adding lemon slices, and pouring soda water — all without human intervention.
The company argues that robots need more than a single physical world model; they need a unified framework that combines physical understanding with human social awareness, extending robotic perception from pure physical space to social interaction.
COOWA also showcased the X0 all-terrain robot, capable of carrying 68kg loads and navigating stairs, slopes, gravel roads, and garden edges — far beyond the planar limitations of traditional wheeled robots.
The X0 features a highly modular design, allowing quick attachment swaps to handle municipal sanitation, last-mile delivery, security patrols, and other tasks. It has completed multi-scenario validation and is now entering real-world deployment for urban精细化 operations.
COOWA also outlined its RoboCity vision, where robots evolve from isolated task executors into a network of Physical Agents with autonomous decision-making, powered by a shared physical-social world model for city-wide collaborative ecosystems.
Analysts note that 2026 marks a critical inflection point for embodied AI moving from exploration to规模化 deployment. COOWA's city-first approach and world-model foundation represent a pragmatic evolution path.
The next question is whether COOWAM can prove its cross-scenario generalization in real urban operations, and whether the dual-layer agent architecture becomes an industry standard.
