Delin Capital launches 2026 AI startup competition with 2M yuan cash prize and 40M yuan 'utopia' incubator

The firm also spent 40 million yuan building Delin Residency, a roughly 4,000-square-meter incubation space where up to 15 teams get free office, housing, compute and hardware labs plus up to 5 million yuan in equity investment.
Shenzhen investment firm Delin Capital has launched the "Delin Cup 2026 AI Startup Competition," with the champion receiving a 2 million yuan cash prize — unconditional and with no equity taken. According to a QbitAI report published on August 31, the prize is only the appetizer: the firm has also spent 40 million yuan building Delin Residency, a roughly 4,000-square-meter incubation space nicknamed the "Delin Utopia."
Per the founding partner of Delin Capital, after the competition the firm will select no more than 15 teams to enter Delin Residency for deep incubation. During their stay, office space, housing, meals, compute and hardware labs are all free, and each team can receive up to 5 million yuan in equity investment. A Demo Day at the end of the program connects the resident teams with more than 30 top venture capital firms at once.
Registration is open until September 30, 2026 via the official website, where founders submit their business plans. After review, 60 teams will be selected for the offline finals in Shenzhen on October 15-16, each delivering a 10-minute presentation followed by a 5-minute Q&A. The champion is decided at the finals, and the first cohort of resident teams is also chosen from them, with the residency opening on November 1.
The entry bar is deliberately open: no restrictions on major, age, education or team background, as long as the project is AI hardware or AI software solving a real problem in a concrete scenario. The one hard requirement is already having a product — an MVP or a demonstrable prototype — while idea-only submissions are not accepted. The residency bar, however, is very high: the founder said that if only three teams qualify, only three will be admitted, with no lowering of standards.
By prize level, the 2 million yuan cash award puts the competition far ahead of typical Chinese AI startup contests, whose prizes usually range from 300,000 to 600,000 yuan. For early-stage teams, the freely disposable cash can go straight into R&D and hiring, buying the project meaningful room to develop.
Delin stresses that Delin Residency is not merely a fancier incubator but a "container that removes noise": the 10-week schedule is deliberately slimmed down, keeping only fixed reviews and a weekly "Demo Dinner," where each team reports progress on product, users and revenue and receives feedback from the other 14 teams across different tracks — a mix of peer pressure and collective calibration that compresses product development, user feedback and the next iteration into shorter cycles.
For Delin Capital, the 10-week co-residency also shifts the fund's role from reviewing projects periodically to accompanying them as they grow, surfacing earlier where teams are stuck on product direction, user validation or resources. What to watch next: the review results after the September 30 deadline, which teams make the finals and the residency, and whether this combination of cash, free resources and concentrated financing access can actually produce outcomes.
