Accenture Federal Services and Google Public Sector launch Gemini launchpads for federal agents

Accenture Federal Services and Google Public Sector announced Gemini launchpads, a managed hub that connects Gemini to federal mission data, embeds Forward Deployed Engineers and ships pre-built agents for HR, finance and supply chain. The program is meant to move agencies from agentic pilots to measured, mission-level deployments.

On October 19, Accenture Federal Services, a subsidiary of Accenture (NYSE: ACN), and Google Public Sector announced the deployment of Gemini launchpads, a new capability intended to move federal agencies from agentic experimentation to mission execution at scale.

A launchpad works as a centralized control point. Once an agency activates one, it can connect Gemini to mission datasets, rank and prioritize agent use cases, push agents into deployment and train its workforce, while leadership tracks performance and mission impact from a single view.

The offering builds on Accenture's recently announced Gemini Enterprise Business Group, part of the Accenture Google Business Group, which supplies a hub of Forward Deployed Engineers to industrialize how agencies build, deploy and scale enterprise agents. These engineers sit alongside agency teams rather than working from a distance.

Accenture Federal Services said it is training an initial cohort of Google Cloud-skilled Forward Deployed Engineers, part of a previously announced commitment to a 1,000-person FDE workforce. The engineers will work with the firm's functional subject-matter experts, pairing cloud technical skills with federal domain knowledge.

To shorten the path to first value, the two companies are developing a core set of pre-built agents for common mission-critical functions including HR, finance and supply chain. These agents are designed to run inside Gemini, handling data gathering and complex workflows in the background so federal employees can spend more time on decisions.

“The real opportunity to scale value for our clients is deploying these purpose-built agents to transform work at the heart of government operations,” said Ron Ash, CEO of Accenture Federal Services. Karen Dahut, CEO of Google Public Sector, framed the moment as the threshold of the agentic era, where success is measured by mission outcomes rather than technology adopted.

Agencies can start through hands-on agent-building workshops run jointly with Google Public Sector at The Forge in Washington, D.C., including a Prototyping Lab opened recently as a dedicated agentic prototyping space. The pitch is that competition in federal AI is shifting from model trials to who can embed agents in mission workflows and measure the results at scale.

What to watch next is less the launch itself than the first agency deployments: which missions the pre-built HR, finance and supply chain agents actually run, how quickly the FDE cohort grows beyond its initial size, and whether single-view performance data reaches budget decisions. Those details will decide whether launchpads become standard federal infrastructure or another pilot program.

Why it matters

If the first deployments hold up, embedded engineers plus pre-built agents could become a standard shape for federal AI procurement, pulling Gemini deeper into core government systems. If results prove hard to measure, the program risks joining the long list of federal AI pilots.

Arm claims its AGI CPU delivers nearly 2x the per-rack performance of AMD's EPYC 9755 in agentic AI tests

Arm says its AGI CPU reached nearly twice the performance per rack of AMD's EPYC 9755 in new CPU tests aimed at agentic AI workloads, according to Tom's Hardware. The comparison moves the argument from single-chip speed to rack-level throughput, but the figures come from Arm's own testing and still need independent verification.
